Citizenship
The goal of citizenship education is to help adult immigrants to learn enough procedural information, content, and language to complete the naturalization process, pass the exam and become citizens. - Center for Applied Linguistics
The Nashville Adult Literacy Council has offered citizenship preparation classes at various locations across Davidson County since April 2011. The goal of the classes is to strengthen the English language and literacy skills of our learners in the context of preparing for the United States Citizenship Exam. In the past five months, more than 50 learners have passed the citizenship exam and we celebrate each new success.
