<div>NALC is looking for volunteers to help staff set up the day of banquet. Responsibilities may include decorating the room and tables, setting up chairs, monitoring food lines during the event, or cleaning up and tearing down after the banquet.</div>

Conversation Club is back in session! These clubs are led by volunteers and designed to expose learners to day-to-day conversation, culture, and idioms they might not be otherwise exposed to. If your learner or someone you know is studying for the citizenship test and needs extra help, please encourage them to come to <strong>one</strong> of the following scheduled <strong>registrations</strong>:</p>

<p><strong>AARP Contest</strong><br />
If you are a member of AARP, consider entering the following contest by September 30, 2011:</p>

We are now collecting learner stories for <em>In Our Words</em>! Every year, NALC compiles a book made up of stories written by our learners about a multitude of topics, including (but not limited to) their experience here at NALC, or life experiences. If your learner is interested in submitting a story, email <a href="mailto:info@nashvilleliteracy.org">info@nashvilleliteracy.org</a> to request a permission slip which will enable us to publish their story in <em>In Our Words</em>.</p>
<p>The deadline to submit the story <strong>with the permission slip</strong> is October 14.</p>
<p><strong>VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO COORDINATE LEVEL 3 GROUP IN ANTIOCH</strong><br />

<p><strong>VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO WORK SOUTHERN FESTIVAL OF BOOKS, OCTOBER 14 – 16</strong><br />
NALC is looking for volunteers to man a booth in 2-hour increments at the Southern Festival of Books in Nashville, October 14 through October 16. The hours of each day are as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>Friday, October 14- 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM</li>
<li>Saturday, October 15- 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM</li>
<li>Sunday, October 16- 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM</li>
</ul>
