Meet Kim, our new Executive Director
The Nashville Adult Literacy Council is excited to announce the appointment of our new Executive Director, Kim Karesh.
Originally from Indiana, Kim moved to Nashville nearly 20 years ago. She has since passionately served the community in the fields of education, environment and healthcare. She brings a unique and comprehensive background to NALC, having worked for the media, government and corporations.
Kim began her career as a reporter for WLAC-AM and quickly moved into public service as a communications director for the State of Tennessee. About ten years ago, she transitioned to a position in corporate healthcare. There, she forged exemplary leadership and business skills, most recently as Vice President of Account Management for Matrix Medical Network.
The daughter of two teachers, Kim understands the power and impact of educational programs.
“It is a privilege to join the Nashville Adult Literacy Council and its dedicated staff and volunteers,” Kim said. “I think all of my experiences have been preparing me to lead initiatives that are essential, urgent and important in our community. I can’t imagine anything more relevant than the work done every day at NALC. We make a difference in Nashville, and my hope is to empower and inspire the next phase of NALC’s success.”
